Allie Sanders ~ Lead Teacher for Caterpillars

Hello!  My name is Allie, I was born and raised in Santa Cruz,California. Growing up in a town surrounded by redwoods and the ocean resulted in me having a deep love for nature and all the living things in it. I’ve worked with kids my entire life and before Meadow I did a year working at the lab school at Cabrillo College and then 2 years as a lead teacher at Coastal community preschool in Santa Cruz which happened to have a surrounding that allowed me to do daily nature walks and “adventures” with my class. In my free time I like to go hiking, be around family, take care of my pet tortoise, and hit golf balls with my partner at the driving range.

Tiffany Espinosa ~ Lead Teacher for the Dragonflies

My name is Tiany Espinosa. I am so excited to be a part of the Meadow preschool learning community. I live here in Santa Monica with my husband and 3 daughters. For my Early Childhood Education, I attended Santa Monica College and National University. I have taught children ranging from infants to second grade. Being a mom and a teacher, I have enjoyed learning about each age group, but my passion is with infants and preschoolers. The best part of my job is watching them play and exploring the world.

Henriette Backer ~ Lead Teacher for the Hummingbirds

I live in Playa Del Rey with my 11 year old daughter, my husband, and our dog. I grew up in green, suburban Denmark surrounded by forest and ocean, biking and walking everywhere. My best childhood memories are from playing outside; rolling down grassy hills, mud cooking, making angel wings in the snow, and walking my dog through the forest. I have worked with children of all ages in several different countries and was an elementary school teacher in Denmark before coming to Los Angeles. Here, I’ve been lucky to work in some very progressive preschools. I have a special interest in social/emotional development, and creative and healing arts. When children’s feelings are honored and allowed to be expressed safely and their conflicts seen as opportunities for learning, growth, and connection, then I see them shine in all areas of life. I’m excited about the philosophy, the use of natural materials, and the outdoors at Meadow Preschool.

Susan Reardon ~ Floater Teacher

Susan Reardon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Development. She also learned about the social and educational systems of Sweden during a study abroad program in Stockholm. In addition to studying she also volunteered with the street children in Romania helping them to be able to return to school. Her experience back in California runs the gamut of working at a Reggio- inspired preschool, doing behavioral work with children who have special needs, private tutoring, and most recently working as a nanny. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, and hula hooping. Susan loves the outdoors and rides her bike most everywhere.

Parker Bent ~ Music Teacher

Parker has played music for 25 years. He’s worked with young children for about as long. He’s been a preschool teacher, a nanny, and a student of Early Childhood Education (Colby College, Waterville, Maine). In 2002 Parker moved to Los Angeles (from his proud home state of Massachusetts) eager to go surfing and play music. His clean clear voice and tasteful guitar-playing soon caught the ears of producers and labels. Always one to follow his heart, Parker quickly realized that he was writing his best songs and having the most fun playing music with the preschoolers at his day-job. Right away Parker began to focus on doing music with children, and a flood-gate was opened. He’s been busy experiencing the thrills and spills of performing for small children full-time ever since.

Jessica Jablonski ~ Yoga Teacher

I have forever enjoyed working with children, their energy, enthusiasm and pure love is a gift. Certified through Light on Lotus, YogaBuddies and YogaWorks, I am so grateful to be able to inspire through the practice of yoga. My classes are playful, filled with laughter, self expression and mindfulness. I strive to bring awareness, connection and condence to my kids (and their families!) Yoga in schools is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children, providing them with tools they will use for the rest of their lives. No matter how old, students will gain internal and external strength, flexibility and balance. One of my students once said to me “Yoga Peaces Me,” it basically sums up my intention for every class and I’m thrilled to bring this peace to Meadow Preschool.

I also occasionally babysit and help people clean and organize their homes. In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach with my family, listening to music, and gardening.
